Kenny Adams 1968

Kenny Adams, WR

Kenneth Adams, offensive end for the Kashmere Gardens Rams, was Kashmere's Outstanding Athlete of the Year as shown by his statistics he compiled and the awards bestowed upon him. He was the first black to win the "Thom McAn Award". The McAn trophy is a national award that annually honors outstanding high school athletes who have good academic marks. Over 100 major newspapers across the nation co-sponsor the project. Kenny amazed the Houston Area Sports fans and writers by winning these additional honors: High School All American Scholastic Magazine; All State; All City; All Zone; and All District. Many Houston schoolboy football writers in 1968 considered Adams the best receiver to come out of the city ranks in the past 20 years. Kenny played football at the University of California @ Berkley, and still resides in the California area.
